Thomas Mansbacher has been a member of The Cleveland Orchestra since 1977. Prior to joining the Orchestra, he served as principal cello of the New Hampshire Sinfonietta. Mr. Mansbacher received a bachelor of music degree from Washington University and a master of music degree from the Yale School of Music. He has studied with Elizabeth Fischer, George Neikrug, and Aldo Parisot. Mr. Mansbacher has taught at Cleveland State University.
Mr. Mansbacher has two daughters, Sarah and Jessica, and a granddaughter, Eleanor. In his free time, he enjoys reading mysteries, watching Korean films, going to the gym, and bicycle touring, and is a crossword puzzle addict.
